Our Journey So Far...

• The Wescombe family—Robert and Janette—acquired the park on 1st February 2000, which at the time operated on just 4 acres of the existing 10‑acre site.
• Originally established in 1968, the park had primarily housed residential caravanners prior to their purchase.
• Recognizing strong demand for tourist and short‑stay accommodations, the Wescombe’s set out to transform the park.
• In 2007, they obtained council approval to develop the remaining 6 acres specifically for tourism purposes.
  February 2020
• Official opening of newly established sites, marking enhanced capacity and infrastructure aimed at providing improved experiences for travellers and regional workforce stay.
  September 2024 – Completion of Major Upgrade
  
• Finalization of a $2.1 million project—supported in part by a $525,000 Victorian Government Regional Tourism Investment Fund grant—resulted in:
  - 21 additional cabins
  - New amenities block featuring accessible bathrooms, camp kitchen, laundry
  - Clubroom/meeting and recreation rooms
  - Covered BBQ shelter with built-in entertainment facilities, landscaping and an outdoor community fire pit
  - Bike wash and maintenance facility & DIY Dog wash
  
  The expansion positions the park as a key regional tourism hub, central to both Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges.
  Local reports reflect optimism that this growth will boost visitor numbers, extend park occupancy, and support local jobs.
  Lilydale Pine Hill Caravan Park has evolved from part‑time residential use to a fully equipped, tourist‑centric destination, offering a blend of natural ambiance and modern comforts. The site’s strategic upgrades over more than two decades now make it an inviting base for families, couples, workers, campers, and caravanners exploring Victoria’s Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges.
